How to read your budget

Budgets show you how much funding you have on your health plan so you can keep on track of your spending

When you add your health plan to your Wallet in Kismet, its easy to keep track of related spending by using Budgets. Setting a budget for a particular category of spending will allow you to monitor related expenses to ensure you are not over or under spending in any one area.

If you have a linked plan, such as an NDIS plan, these budget may likely be preloaded for you into categories you are already familiar with.

Budget Summary

In the Kismet app you will be shown a summary of the important information of your budgets. These amounts are:

  • Total: The total amount of funding that this budget has been set up with that you can spend.
  • Used: The amount that has been either spent or allocated

Budget Detail

Within a budget, there are some important numbers and terminology that you should know to be able to properly understand your balances and spending. These amounts are also colour coded in the app to make it easier to see at a glance

  • Total: The total amount of funding that this budget has been set up with that you can spend.
  • Allocated: The amount of money that has been 'set aside' for a particular purpose to ensure it will always be available.
  • Spent: The amount of money that has been spent since the start of the plan in this particular category
  • Owing: Any amounts related to invoices that are pending payment
  • Remaining: The amount of money remaining that can be spent within the budget
